About the Role
This opportunity is for a Senior Software Engineer, Backend responsible for designing, building, and scaling backend systems that support a modern engineering platform. The role focuses on solving complex technical challenges, improving scalability, and delivering reliable backend services for enterprise customers.
You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, support, leadership, sales, and customers to build new capabilities, improve system performance, and continuously enhance the overall developer experience.
This is a fully remote position open to candidates across the United States. Team members also participate in several company offsites throughout the year to collaborate, strengthen relationships, and plan future initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, efficient backend systems and services that meet enterprise requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers to build new features and improve existing functionality.
- Optimize the performance, reliability, and scalability of backend systems.
- Support production operations, including participation in a rotating incident response schedule.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.
- Write clean, maintainable, and thoroughly testable code that follows engineering best practices.
- Partner with engineering, product, leadership, sales, and customers to better understand technical requirements and improve user experiences.
- Continuously improve planning, development, and deployment processes.
- Mentor and support junior engineers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of experience building backend applications using modern programming languages.
- Experience developing distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-based applications.
- Experience working with modern database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar solutions.
- Knowledge of current software engineering best practices and the ability to learn and adopt new technologies and programming languages.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and web development best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to mentor and coach junior engineers.
