International Volunteer Programs Coordinator

We are seeking an International Volunteer Programs Coordinator to oversee and support international volunteer initiatives focused on community impact and global engagement. This role is responsible for coordinating volunteer experiences outside the United States, managing logistics, and ensuring meaningful, safe, and well-organized programs.
The position is fully remote within the United States and includes frequent international travel. It is ideal for someone who thrives in mission-driven work, enjoys cross-cultural collaboration, and is comfortable managing complex logistics.
Key Responsibilities
Collaboration & Planning
- Set and track program goals in collaboration with leadership.
- Coordinate international volunteer trips and field experiences with global partners.
- Collaborate with internal teams to design engaging volunteer and supporter experiences.
- Promote ethical engagement, cultural awareness, and a solutions-oriented team culture.
Volunteer Management & Program Support
- Lead volunteer recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing support.
- Maintain accurate volunteer and program records using internal systems.
- Ensure clear communication, safety guidance, and positive experiences for all volunteers.
- Support fundraising and engagement goals tied to volunteer programs.
Program Development & Promotion
- Develop and improve international volunteer programs and alumni engagement initiatives.
- Coordinate externally facing materials in partnership with communications teams.
- Identify opportunities for storytelling and impact-focused content.
- Represent programs at meetings, events, or briefings as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of experience in volunteer coordination, community engagement, or customer-facing roles.
- Background in nonprofit, social impact, or mission-driven environments.
- Experience living or working abroad, especially in low- or middle-income countries.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly in dynamic or complex environments.
- Valid passport and willingness to travel internationally.
Preferred
- Experience in program development, event coordination, or partnership management.
- Multilingual skills.
- Familiarity with CRM tools, collaboration platforms, or analytics tools.

Compensation
Annual salary range: $40,000–$45,000
Hourly equivalent: $19.23–$21.63 per hour (based on a standard 40-hour workweek)
