DevOps Engineer

This opportunity is for a DevOps Engineer with an AI-native, builder-focused mindset. The role is suited for an engineer who enjoys coding, experimenting, automating systems, and improving infrastructure end to end rather than simply maintaining deployment pipelines.
This position supports a fast-moving engineering environment focused on modern AI-assisted development workflows, distributed backend systems, compiler-like infrastructure, and rich web application experiences. The role sits at the intersection of infrastructure, software engineering, sales engineering, and AI-assisted operations.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $150,000 – $250,000 annually, plus cash and equity compensation
What You’ll Do
- Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure, primarily in AWS
- Build and automate CI/CD pipelines and deployment systems
- Write code in Python, Go, or similar languages to improve internal tooling and operational workflows
- Manage and optimize Linux-based systems in production environments
- Configure and troubleshoot networking components, including DNS, firewalls, routing, and related infrastructure
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
- Improve developer experience through better internal tooling and workflow automation
- Use AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar platforms to accelerate operations and engineering workflows
- Continuously refine infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Manage bi-weekly release processes
- Work with sales engineering to improve customer onboarding and automation
Qualifications
- Strong experience with Linux systems and confidence working in terminal-based environments
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, and load balancing
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, or similar cloud infrastructure components
- Experience deploying and managing production services
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar platforms
- Experience with containers such as Docker, with Kubernetes or ECS experience preferred
- Ability to write code, not only configuration, and use code to manage infrastructure and solve operational problems
- Experience scripting and building tools to support automation and engineering workflows
- Experience with at least one programming language such as Python, Go, Rust, or similar
- Active use of AI tools to improve productivity and engineering output
- Curiosity about how AI can improve workflows, automation, debugging, and system operations
- Openness to experimenting with new tools, workflows, and technical approaches
- 3–5 years of solid experience in DevOps, software engineering, or computer engineering
- Senior-level DevOps experience is also relevant for candidates with 7–10+ years of experience
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across teams to resolve issues
- Proactive mindset with the ability to identify and fix problems without waiting for direction
- Comfort working in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry
- Experience working in startups or small engineering teams
- Open-source contributions or personal technical projects
