About the Role

This fully remote Senior Accountant role is designed for an experienced public accounting professional who enjoys working directly with small business owners. The position goes beyond routine transaction processing and focuses on owning client relationships, delivering high-quality accounting and tax work, and helping clients make informed financial decisions.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in a CPA or public accounting firm, is comfortable managing multiple clients, and enjoys a mix of tax preparation, full-cycle accounting, and advisory support in a flexible remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review business tax returns (1120S, 1065) and individual tax returns (1040).
• Support proactive, year-round tax planning for small business clients.
• Manage full-cycle accounting, including bookkeeping, payroll, sales tax, and monthly financial reporting.
• Lead complex cleanup and reconciliation projects to produce accurate financial records.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, guiding them through onboarding and ongoing accounting needs.
• Provide budgeting support and financial analysis to help clients understand and improve performance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in a CPA firm or public accounting environment.
• Strong experience preparing small business and individual tax returns independently.
• Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online and professional tax software.
• CPA or EA certification, or active pursuit of licensure.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and comfort working with complex or incomplete financial data.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-accountants.
