Part-time Cleaner Phoenix

Pay: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour

Role snapshot

This on call janitor role helps keep a healthcare facility clean, safe, and welcoming for patients, visitors, and staff.
You handle routine cleaning, disinfection, and basic facility support whenever you are scheduled or called in.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in common areas, waiting rooms, halls, and restrooms
• Disinfect and sanitize high touch surfaces including door handles, handrails, light switches, and elevator buttons
• Empty trash and dispose of waste, including medical waste, according to guidelines
• Refill soap, paper towel, and toilet paper dispensers as needed
• Monitor cleaning supply levels and notify a supervisor when items need to be reordered
• Set up and clean meeting rooms and event spaces as requested
• Work with maintenance and facility teams to address cleanliness or safety issues
• Report repair and maintenance needs to the appropriate contact
• Handle cleaning chemicals safely and follow all safety protocols and procedures
• Complete other cleaning tasks and projects requested by the customer or management

What you bring

• Previous janitorial or custodial experience, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and use of janitorial equipment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleanliness standards
• Understanding of infection control practices and sanitary procedures
• Good communication skills and ability to work well with a team
• Physical stamina for lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
• Flexibility to work day or evening shifts as needed on an on call basis

Screening and health requirements

• Background check completed according to applicable law
• Pre placement physical or health screening
• OSHA respiratory questionnaire and qualitative respirator fit test when required
• Drug screen (10 panel)
• Vaccination and testing requirements such as COVID 19, influenza, TB, TDAP, MMR, varicella, and hepatitis B, with medical and religious exemptions where applicable

Physical demands

• Regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds
• On your feet for most of the shift, with frequent walking and standing
