Hourly Pay: $25.00 – $32.00 (DOE)

Role Summary

Keep a high-volume transfer/maintenance operation running by diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment and diesel trucks. You’ll handle preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs, document work in fleet software, and uphold strict safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on yellow-iron machinery and diesel trucks.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and required safety checks.
  • Estimate labor/parts and requisition components as needed.
  • Complete work orders and parts usage in fleet maintenance software; review DVIR items.
  • Maintain a clean, OSHA-compliant work area; follow all safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with other technicians; provide on-call support for emergency breakdowns when needed.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus); ~5+ years of relevant hands-on experience.
  • Experience with diesel diagnostics (e.g., Cummins, CAT, Allison, Mack/Volvo PTT, Paccar).
  • Working knowledge of DOT and OSHA standards.
  • Ability to read/write English service notes and complete records; provide and maintain your own tools.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs; frequent standing, squatting, and moving around equipment.

Work Environment

Shop/transfer-station setting with occasional field calls. PPE provided; awareness of moving machinery and vehicles required.
