About the Role
The Training & Development Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, delivering, and continuously improving employee training programs. Working as part of the Learning & Development team, this role supports organizational learning initiatives, facilitates engaging training sessions, develops instructional content, and helps ensure new employees transition successfully from training into their operational roles.
What You'll Do
- Help create, develop, and facilitate training programs based on business needs.
- Assist with all aspects of corporate training to ensure comprehensive learning resources are available, including instructor-led classes, online learning tools, self-study materials, and practical training sessions.
- Maintain accurate employee training and development records within the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Partner with organizational leaders to evaluate workforce performance and identify additional training opportunities.
- Conduct training needs assessments to support the design, development, and continuous improvement of corporate training programs.
- Work independently to complete assigned training initiatives and related responsibilities.
- Review and update all training materials at least every six months.
- Maintain and update up-training programs, instructor-led training, and self-paced learning content.
- Support a preferred goal of reviewing and refreshing training content every three months whenever possible.
- Create documentation and forms to track new hire concerns and communicate findings to management.
- Report leadership concerns, recommendations, and training-related feedback when appropriate.
- Prepare training materials, schedules, and class logistics on time.
- Complete new hire communications promptly.
- Provide coverage for the Training Manager during breaks or scheduled absences as needed.
- Independently facilitate and manage training classes.
- Perform additional training-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Adult Education, Instructional Design, or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience or licensure.
- 1–2 years of experience facilitating training, designing instructional content, and developing learning materials in a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and content creation platforms.
- Knowledge of instructional design principles and Adult Learning Theory.
- Proven ability to manage the complete training lifecycle from planning through delivery and evaluation.
- Experience effectively facilitating training for both leadership and non-managerial audiences.
- Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment while adapting positively to change.
- Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
