The final compensation offer depends on factors including location, relevant experience, and skills. The stated range accounts for labor-cost differences across the United States, and candidates will be eligible for the compensation range assigned to their location. The range does not include additional compensation or benefits.
About the Role
This opportunity is for a strategic, data-driven marketer who will lead audience growth and lifecycle marketing for a portfolio of essential live events. The role owns the complete attendee journey, from audience acquisition and CRM strategy through registration, engagement, retention, repeat attendance, and performance reporting.
The Senior Associate, Marketing & Growth will develop scalable marketing programs that attract high-value audiences, improve audience quality, strengthen long-term engagement, and increase loyalty across local and national events. The position combines marketing strategy, audience development, lifecycle marketing, paid media, automation, segmentation, personalization, analytics, and cross-functional leadership.
What You’ll Do
Audience Growth and Lifecycle Marketing
- Own the full attendee lifecycle, from audience acquisition and registration through engagement, retention, and repeat attendance.
- Create automated, behavior-based marketing journeys that personalize the attendee experience before, during, and after each event.
- Build nurture programs for newsletter subscribers, previous attendees, sponsors, partners, premium members, and prospective audiences.
- Develop strategies that increase repeat attendance, strengthen audience loyalty, and improve long-term audience value.
Audience Acquisition
- Lead audience acquisition efforts for local and national events.
- Plan and execute integrated campaigns across email, paid social media, organic social media, house advertisements, newsletter promotions, partner marketing, and referral campaigns.
- Manage paid campaigns across Meta, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms to increase registrations and attract qualified audiences.
- Improve campaign performance through audience targeting, creative testing, and conversion analysis.
Email Marketing and CRM
- Lead email marketing strategy and execution for essential live events.
- Create campaign calendars, messaging plans, and promotional timelines based on event goals.
- Use behavioral and engagement data to build targeted audience segments and improve personalization and conversion.
- Write, review, test, and deploy event emails, including invitations, speaker announcements, registration confirmations, reminders, pre-event information, post-event follow-ups, and thank-you messages.
- Work with editorial and event leaders to create messaging that reflects the appropriate editorial voice while encouraging audience engagement.
Audience Strategy and Segmentation
- Build and maintain audience profiles based on industry, executive function, and geographic market.
- Identify high-value audience segments and improve campaign targeting.
- Analyze registration trends, attendance behavior, and audience composition to guide future marketing decisions.
- Recommend ways to improve audience quality, diversity, and long-term growth.
Analytics and Optimization
- Build and maintain centralized dashboards that track marketing performance across events.
- Monitor registrations, attendance, engagement, conversion rates, and channel performance.
- Turn campaign and audience data into clear, actionable recommendations for internal stakeholders.
- Plan and run A/B tests to improve registration conversion, email engagement, and audience acquisition.
- Prepare recurring reports that measure performance across campaigns, channels, and event portfolios.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Serve as the primary marketing lead for essential live events.
- Collaborate with events, editorial, partnerships, design, and audience development teams throughout campaign planning and execution.
- Lead weekly marketing updates covering registration results, audience insights, campaign priorities, and recommended next steps.
- Keep audience needs and engagement goals at the center of the event-planning process.
Qualifications
- At least three years of experience in growth marketing, lifecycle marketing, CRM, or event marketing.
- Experience planning and managing integrated campaigns across email, paid media, and owned channels.
- Strong knowledge of lifecycle marketing, customer journeys, and marketing automation.
- Experience creating audience segmentation and personalization strategies.
- Hands-on experience managing paid social media campaigns focused on audience acquisition and conversion.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret campaign and audience data.
- Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Exceptional writing skills and strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to develop AI literacy and responsibly use AI tools to improve productivity, creativity, and efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Sailthru or a similar marketing automation platform.
- Familiarity with CRM and customer data platforms such as HubSpot or Segment.
- Experience using AI tools to improve marketing workflows, personalization, or campaign optimization.
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS for email marketing.
- Experience marketing conferences, live events, or media products.
