About the Role
This opportunity is for an experienced Senior Billing Revenue Analyst to oversee complex subscription billing, revenue operations, collections, and billing system optimization within a fully remote U.S.-based environment. This role owns the complete billing lifecycle for a global customer base, including invoicing, renewals, amendments, credits, collections, and revenue-related support activities.
The position serves as a key partner to Finance, Accounting, Revenue Operations, Sales, Customer Success, and Support teams to ensure accurate billing execution, efficient collections, clean revenue reporting, and scalable operational processes. In addition to managing day-to-day billing operations, this role acts as a subject matter expert for Zuora, supports revenue recognition activities, improves accounts receivable performance, and helps drive automation initiatives through the use of AI-powered tools and process improvements.
The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in SaaS billing environments, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, advanced systems expertise, and the ability to manage complex billing scenarios while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and an exceptional customer experience.

Compensation: $46.15 - $50.96 per hour
What You'll Do
Complex Billing Management
- Own end-to-end billing operations for a global customer base.
- Manage complex subscription billing scenarios, including multi-year agreements, amendments, upgrades, downgrades, credits, and custom billing structures.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, invoicing errors, and escalated billing issues.
- Manage renewals, adjustments, and amendments in accordance with contract terms.
- Serve as a resource for complex and non-standard billing scenarios.
Customer Support & Billing Relations
- Act as a senior point of contact for customer billing inquiries.
- Partner with Customer Success and Support teams to resolve billing concerns.
- Provide clear, professional, and customer-focused communication regarding billing matters.
- Support positive customer experiences through timely issue resolution.
Contract & Revenue Support
- Review customer agreements and order forms to ensure billing accuracy.
- Advise internal teams on billing implications of contract terms.
- Support revenue recognition activities and revenue-related reconciliations.
- Assist Accounting with month-end close activities related to billing and revenue.
- Identify and escalate billing situations with complex revenue implications.
Accounts Receivable & Collections
- Manage collections activities and monitor aging balances.
- Coordinate follow-up efforts for overdue accounts.
- Maintain accurate accounts receivable reporting.
- Reconcile cash receipts and apply payments accurately.
- Identify collection risks and support ongoing improvements in collection efficiency.
Billing Systems & Process Optimization
- Serve as an internal subject matter expert for billing platforms and workflows.
- Maintain accurate subscription records, billing rules, and system configurations.
- Support billing system enhancements, integrations, and process improvements.
- Document workflows, procedures, and billing best practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and technology.
AI & Automation Initiatives
- Leverage AI-powered tools to improve billing workflows and operational efficiency.
- Support automated reconciliation checks and anomaly detection processes.
- Use AI-assisted tools to improve customer communications and documentation.
- Validate AI-generated outputs before they impact customers or financial reporting.
- Contribute to ongoing AI adoption and automation initiatives within billing and revenue operations.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in billing operations, revenue operations, or a related function within a SaaS or subscription-based company.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Zuora, including subscription management, product catalog configuration, invoicing, amendments, and reporting.
- Foundational knowledge of revenue recognition principles, including ASC 606.
- Experience supporting or partnering with a revenue accounting function.
- Proven experience handling complex, non-standard billing scenarios.
- Strong attention to detail and sound professional judgment.
- Comfortable working directly with customers on billing matters.
- Ability to communicate billing issues clearly, professionally, and empathetically.
- Strong ability to interpret contract language and apply it accurately to billing setup and revenue implications.
- Strong systems fluency with the ability to work across multiple platforms and solve operational challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to work with AI tools in a finance or operations context.
- Experience using prompt-based workflows, AI-assisted drafting, or AI-assisted analysis.
- Ability to validate and escalate AI-generated outputs when human review is required.
- Self-starter mindset with strong ownership and proactive problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively across a globally distributed team.
- Experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM platform is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
