About the Role
This opportunity is for an Associate Creative Director in a full-time, remote-first role based in the United States. The position leads conceptual and design work for experience-focused projects, including immersive environments, progressive user interfaces, augmented reality, and 3D brand animations.
This role is suited for a senior creative leader with strong design instincts, refined leadership skills, and the ability to guide both clients and creative teams with confidence. The position requires hands-on creative participation, clear direction, strong client communication, and the ability to turn client goals into actionable strategic briefs for creative teams.
The work is primarily remote and aligned with Pacific and Mountain time. Candidates may work from anywhere in the United States, but they must be authorized to work full-time in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship.
Compensation
Annual salary range: $135,000 - $150,000 per year
Compensation is determined by job level, qualifications, skills, prior industry experience, potential impact, market demands, and specific work location.
What You’ll Do
- Provide creative leadership and oversight for projects from inception through delivery.
- Focus on projects that are highly creative, highly strategic, or both.
- Lead conceptual and design duties for experience-focused creative work.
- Work closely with and lead design teams through the development of digitally driven projects.
- Guide projects involving immersive environments, progressive UI, augmented reality, and 3D brand animation.
- Lead and mentor designers, art directors, and creative specialists while remaining actively involved in project work.
- Present creative work and communicate project development clearly and efficiently to internal teams, clients, and vendors.
- Work closely with clients to clarify their needs, goals, and priorities.
- Translate client requests and agendas into actionable, strategic briefs for creative teams.
- Collaborate across departments with other leads to support internal alignment, best practices, and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with producers and executive producers to determine project staffing plans.
- Work closely with production, development, and animation leads to help projects reach their full potential.
- Support project execution so work is completed on time and on budget.
- Advocate for the design team throughout the creative and production process.
- Lead by example by contributing directly to project development when needed.
- Push creative possibilities while giving clients confidence in the vision, recommendations, and expected outcomes.
- Report to senior creative leadership.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of proven design experience in an agency or studio setting.
- Strong design background with a well-rounded portfolio of immersive, interactive, and animation projects.
- Progressive creative vision with strengths in concept development and narrative.
- Deep knowledge of progressive experience design principles.
- Strong understanding of emerging technologies.
- Knowledge of production techniques and the practical implications of creative ideas.
- Ability to lead small and large teams in both remote and in-person settings.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with producers and keep creative development aligned with the brief.
- Strong drive and self-direction to make an impact on the team and projects.
