About the Role
This opportunity is for a highly experienced individual contributor responsible for designing, building, and maintaining reliable software within a defined product area. The role focuses on strong execution, practical technical decision-making, and helping the engineering team deliver high-quality software that supports product and business needs.
You will support modernization and quality improvements through hands-on development and day-to-day technical leadership. This role helps improve consistency, code quality, delivery efficiency, and long-term maintainability across the systems you own.
Status: Full-Time
Pay: $140,000 – $170,000 per year

- Technical decisions within owned areas balance delivery speed with maintainability and performance

- Work is delivered predictably and aligns with agreed product requirements and timelines
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement features and services using established architectural patterns
- Write high-quality, maintainable code and take ownership of systems within your domain
- Contribute to system reliability, performance, and security through disciplined engineering practices
- Participate in design discussions by offering technical input and recommendations within a defined scope
- Review code, share best practices, and support the growth of less experienced engineers
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver agreed outcomes
Qualifications
- Strong experience building and evolving backend systems using .NET and Java in production environments
- 4+ years of experience designing scalable distributed systems and cloud-based architectures
- Proven ability to contribute to complex technical initiatives from concept through deployment with clear ownership and follow-through
- Strong technical judgment and the ability to influence without formal authority
- Ability to align teams around sound engineering decisions
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and improve quality through clear standards and practical coaching
- Bias for action combined with a high bar for reliability, security, and maintainability
