About the Role

This opportunity is for an experienced finance leader to build and lead the financial planning and analysis function supporting Engineering and Technology operations. The role partners closely with executive leadership to drive strategic planning, financial forecasting, operational efficiency, capital strategy, and long-term business growth.

This position combines strategic finance, operational planning, investor support, and executive reporting responsibilities in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.

Salary: $200,000 - $235,000 per year

What You’ll Do

Strategic Planning & Leadership

• Lead the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), rolling forecasts, and long-range financial planning processes for Engineering and Technology teams
• Partner with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making across the organization
• Develop financial narratives and strategic materials for board meetings and investor communications
• Support company growth initiatives through financial planning and operational strategy

Executive & Board Reporting

• Create executive dashboards, KPI reporting, and financial performance summaries
• Prepare presentations and reports for the Board of Directors and investors
• Deliver variance analysis and forward-looking financial projections
• Translate complex financial information into actionable business insights

Business Partnership

• Serve as a trusted financial advisor to Engineering leadership teams
• Evaluate ROI for strategic initiatives, pricing strategies, and capital investments
• Support budget accountability and operational efficiency initiatives
• Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, and Operations teams

Financial Modeling & Capital Strategy

• Build and maintain advanced financial models, including 3-statement financial models
• Support scenario planning, fundraising activities, and strategic financial analysis
• Assist with investor diligence processes and financial storytelling
• Support M&A analysis and strategic growth initiatives when needed

Operational Excellence & Systems

• Manage and optimize FP&A systems and planning tools
• Establish scalable forecasting, reporting, and data integrity processes
• Improve financial workflows and reporting efficiency
• Drive alignment across Finance, Accounting, and operational teams

Performance & Profitability Analysis

• Define and monitor KPIs across SaaS and government contracting environments
• Track metrics including ARR, CAC, burn rate, and contract margins
• Analyze cost of delivery, gross margins, and profitability performance
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and financial performance

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive experience in Finance, FP&A, or Strategic Finance roles
• Strong background in high-growth B2B SaaS, aerospace, or defense environments
• Advanced expertise in financial modeling and Microsoft Excel
• Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning initiatives
• Strong understanding of SaaS metrics including ARR, CAC, and LTV
• Knowledge of government contracting principles such as FAR and CAS is preferred
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite and FP&A planning systems
• Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to executive stakeholders
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting venture capital or private equity fundraising initiatives
• Background scaling finance operations in startup or growth-stage companies
• Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and due diligence processes
• Knowledge of aerospace, defense, or space industry financial operations
• MBA, CPA, or other advanced financial certifications
