Base Salary:
$168,993 – $211,241 per year
Final compensation is determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity.

About the Role
This opportunity is for a Senior Platform Engineer focused on building and operating secure, scalable platforms that support critical systems and continuous delivery. The role emphasizes automation, performance optimization, and developer experience within modern cloud environments.
The position involves working in collaborative, agile teams to deliver high-impact solutions, reduce cycle time, and improve system reliability. This role also integrates AI-driven approaches to accelerate delivery and enhance outcomes.
Travel Requirements
Up to 25% travel may be required for customer site visits, program activities, and contract support.
What You’ll Do
- Create and implement automated configuration and deployment processes to improve platform performance, accessibility, and manageability
- Establish and manage administrator and service accounts while maintaining accurate system documentation
- Resolve technical issues and ensure system stability across platform services
- Develop self-service capabilities within Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environments to support developer workflows
- Collaborate closely with development teams to diagnose and troubleshoot system and application issues
- Take operational ownership of services managed by the team
- Continuously improve platform functionality to enhance user experience and meet evolving needs
- Apply AI-augmented practices to accelerate delivery, reduce cycle time, and improve scalability
- Participate in daily decision-making and contribute to successful project delivery and client satisfaction
- Work in collaborative environments including pairing with team members and engaging stakeholders
Qualifications
- 6–10 years of experience in cloud or platform operations or related technical roles
- Strong experience managing cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Hands-on expertise with container orchestration tools, particularly Kubernetes
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, especially Terraform
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems administration
- Experience building automation solutions using scripting languages
- Solid understanding of networking concepts including load balancers, DNS, SSL, firewalls, NAT, and NTP
- Proven ability to troubleshoot operating systems and application-level issues
- Experience supporting large-scale production systems and resolving production incidents
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in collaborative environments
- Demonstrated curiosity, continuous learning mindset, and problem-solving ability
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience troubleshooting systems using Linux/Unix command line tools
- Professional certifications such as RHCE, Linux+, MCSA, AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Developer, Security+, CISSP, or CCNA
- Experience with DevOps automation practices
- Experience working directly with clients or stakeholders
