About the Role
This opportunity is for a Product Director, Platform responsible for leading the strategy, architecture, and delivery of a complex platform environment. This role owns the full lifecycle of the platform, including roadmap definition, architectural direction, and continuous delivery.
The position requires strong technical depth and the ability to operate across product, engineering, and DevSecOps domains while driving measurable outcomes.
This is a highly autonomous role with full ownership over platform direction, decision-making, and execution.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation
Base Salary: $225,000 – $250,000 per year
Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, skills, and scope of responsibility.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the rollout and continuous evolution of a platform product, owning strategy, architecture, and execution across the platform portfolio.
- Manage and lead the core platform team, including accountability for performance, culture, and delivery outcomes.
- Own and evolve an internal contribution model that enables multiple teams to contribute to the platform, including governance standards and collaboration frameworks.
- Drive a clear and opinionated platform strategy, making architectural decisions that ensure scalability, maintainability, and consistency.
- Define and execute the platform services roadmap, including onboarding frameworks and integration patterns across multiple products.
- Translate complex DevSecOps, platform engineering, and digital transformation concepts into actionable product strategies.
- Collaborate with open-source communities to influence tooling, integrations, and platform capabilities.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define and evolve platform architecture and product vision.
- Drive continuous delivery using lean product methodologies, optimizing release cycles and measuring outcomes in production.
- Own end-to-end platform decisions, including feature prioritization, architecture direction, and long-term evolution.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience across product management, platform engineering, technical program management, software engineering, or related fields.
- Proven ability to deliver large-scale platform or product outcomes in complex environments.
- Strong technical fluency, including leading architecture discussions and evaluating platform and tooling trade-offs.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
- Hands-on experience with open-source software as a contributor, maintainer, or product leader.
- Experience designing and scaling platform services, including onboarding, integrations, and multi-product environments.
- Demonstrated ability to define and execute product and architecture roadmaps across multiple teams.
- Experience leading and mentoring cross-functional teams across product, design, and engineering.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical complexity into clear and actionable insights.
- Experience facilitating workshops, discovery sessions, and cross-team alignment.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and commitment to continuous learning.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with federal agencies, defense organizations, or regulated environments.
- Experience building or operating developer platforms focused on simplicity and usability.
- Knowledge of lean product methodologies, including continuous delivery and performance measurement.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, including platform-as-a-service environments and production pipelines.
- Experience managing internal or open-source contribution models across multiple teams.
- Active security clearance.
