About the Role
This opportunity is for a Director, HR Operations to lead and scale a high-performing HR infrastructure within a fast-growing, acquisition-driven organization. The role is designed for someone who can build systems that support growth with precision, speed, compliance, and consistency.
This is not a maintenance-focused position. The person in this role will own the operational foundation of the People function and help turn HR Operations into a true business advantage.
The Director, HR Operations will be responsible for building and improving the systems, processes, and workflows that support payroll, benefits, onboarding, offboarding, compliance, and integration activity across multiple entities. This role is focused on creating a scalable HR infrastructure that can support rapid expansion without breaking.
Status: Full Time
Compensation: $72.12 - $108.17 per hour, plus equity
What You’ll Do
- Own payroll and benefits execution across all entities, including domestic operations and global operations where applicable
- Ensure payroll is accurate, timely, compliant, and scalable
- Optimize benefits administration to improve both cost efficiency and employee experience
- Build systems and workflows that reduce manual work and eliminate avoidable errors
- Lead HR compliance efforts across jurisdictions
- Own HR-related policies, filings, and compliance processes
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and international labor laws
- Proactively identify and reduce compliance risk as the organization expands into new geographies
- Build scalable onboarding processes that improve consistency and accelerate time to productivity
- Standardize offboarding processes to reduce risk and maintain compliance
- Implement systems that create a consistent employee experience across locations
- Lead HR integration workstreams for mergers and acquisitions from due diligence through post-acquisition integration
- Standardize HR processes across acquired entities while maintaining speed and execution quality
- Ensure clean transitions across payroll, benefits, compliance, and HR systems during integrations
- Build, document, and optimize HR systems, workflows, standard operating procedures, and operational resources
- Drive automation and process improvement across HR functions
- Establish KPIs, reporting structures, and dashboards to measure operational performance
- Partner closely with Finance, Legal, Operations, M&A, and Talent Acquisition teams
- Support leadership with operational insight, data, and recommendations
- Enable hiring managers and internal stakeholders with clear, scalable, and easy-to-follow processes
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading HR Operations in a high-growth environment
- Experience in a private equity-backed organization or an acquisition-heavy environment is preferred
- Deep expertise in payroll, benefits, and HR compliance
- Multi-state HR compliance experience is required
- Global HR compliance experience is preferred
- Experience integrating multiple acquisitions and standardizing processes across entities
- Strong systems mindset, including experience with HRIS platforms, automation, and process design
- Ability to work with urgency and precision in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong execution mindset
- Strong business judgment and the ability to partner effectively with executive leadership
