Maintenance Technician

Location: Dallas, TX

Job type: Full-time, 1st shift

Pay: ~ $35/hour

Role overview

You will handle day-to-day building, mechanical, and basic plumbing work to keep the facility safe, comfortable, and running smoothly. This is a hands-on position that requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently across a large healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair building systems, including basic plumbing and mechanical components.
• Replace plumbing fixtures, rebuild flush valves, rod drains and pipes, and stop leaks.
• Adjust and monitor the building automation system for patient and staff comfort.
• Test and inspect generators and emergency power equipment.
• Replace light fixtures and bulbs, ceiling tiles, and address general building issues.
• Use drawings, wiring diagrams, and O&M manuals to diagnose and repair equipment.
• Coordinate specialized work with outside vendors and contractors when needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance on emergency lighting, ice machines, refrigerators, HVAC, and other building systems.
• Conduct routine building and mechanical room inspections per the maintenance program.
• Complete work orders, documentation, and follow company safety and compliance standards.

What you bring

• Some years of experience as a maintenance worker or maintenance technician
• Strong troubleshooting and follow-up skills for maintenance tasks.
• Ability to read and work from drawings, diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Good verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Experience with building automation systems.
• Experience with computerized work order systems is preferred.
• Ability to work a first shift schedule (7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday) and handle maintenance needs as assigned.
