About the Role
The Customer Data Specialist manages end-to-end customer data migration projects during implementation, including extracting source data from external software, transforming and mapping data to target schemas, and completing uploads. Approximately 70% of the role is dedicated to data migrations, with 20% focused on customer meetings and 10% on product training.
This role combines advanced Microsoft Excel skills, Power Query, AI tools, data transformation, intelligent automation, and customer-facing communication. The position serves as a data migration subject matter expert within Customer Success, helping customers address data requirements while managing multiple projects, deadlines, and cross-functional workflows.
What You'll Do
- Serve as a data migration subject matter expert within the Customer Success organization.
- Complete end-to-end customer data migrations, including extracting source data from external software, transforming data to fit target data schemas using Microsoft Excel, Power Query, AI, and other tools, and completing the upload process.
- Serve as the primary resource for customer data questions and requirements throughout implementation.
- Understand customer data needs and prioritize requirements accordingly.
- Participate in customer-facing meetings with Implementation and Retention teams to ensure customer data requirements are understood and addressed.
- Develop deep expertise in the core software product and lead technical, module-based training sessions for customers.
- Follow established project prioritization procedures and meet project completion deadlines.
- Maintain and continuously improve client satisfaction through professional, courteous, and timely service.
- Work cross-functionally with Customer Success Support, Implementation, and Retention teams to maintain consistent communication throughout customer engagements.
- Continuously improve data migration and customer support processes by applying emerging technologies, including AI tools and intelligent automation.

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data transformation and migration work.
- Exceptional attention to detail, communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to learn and apply new data transformation technologies, including a high level of AI fluency.
- Ability to creatively use intelligent automation tools to streamline repetitive tasks.
- Ability to manage a high volume of simultaneous projects while consistently meeting deadlines.
- Comfort leading customer-facing meetings and addressing customer data requirements.
- Self-motivation and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
